With our dog friendly bedrooms, there’s no need to leave your dog at home! The hotel is ideally situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacons in the Towy Valley, so there’s plenty of options to take your four-legged friend out with you during your stay.

Travelling time from The Plough: approx. 9 minutes (via A40) (or approx. 50 min walk)
A must visit if you’re coming to The Plough. Based on the outskirts of Llandeilo town, this 800 acre estate has plenty to explore for you and your dog. Site of the oldest trees in Britain, home of The White Park Cattle and the most beautiful spread of bluebells in the springtime, the visit will be a memorable one.
There’s a Café onsite with a great selection of light lunches and desserts available.
You’ll also want to visit the historic Dinewfwr Castle with spectacular views over the Tywi Valley

There are a few areas not accessible with dogs, including the ancient deer park, boardwalk and Newton House along with some events.
Travelling time from The Plough: approx. 15 minutes (via 483)
Located just a few miles from Llandeilo, a climb to the top of the 900ft hill to the castle will be rewarded with incredible views over the Brecon Beacons, alternatively, there is a route which takes you along the foot of the hill along the River Cennen. Follow the Red signs for the longer route and the Yellow signs for the Shorter route.
There are sheep and cattle in the surrounding fields and it’s advised to keep dogs on a lead.

Every Monday & Friday* the doors are open at The National Botanic Gardens of Wales for dogs with their dedicated ‘Doggy Days’. Explore the beautiful gardens and 568 acres of rolling countryside.
There are just a few restricted areas where dogs are not allowed, however this shouldn’t spoil your experience of the gardens.
Garden is open 10am to 4.30pm (last entry at 3.30pm)

Located in the village of Llanddeusant, observe the spectacular bird of prey, Red Kites, feeding in their natural habitat in the surroundings of the Brecon Beacons.
Dogs are welcome at the site (must be on leads at all times)
There’s no need to book, however be mindful of the feeding times:
British Summer Time – 3pm
All other months – 2pm

Walking boots are essential for this visit, with a choice of 3 walking trails between 1 and 5 miles you’ll have the opportunity to explore the forest alongside the river Gorlech and a few uphill climbs through woodlands for those fitter among us! Don’t forget refreshments for your dog too!

25 minute walk from the hotel
Based in Llandeilo town, just a 25 minute walk from the hotel you will find Heavenly Ice Cream parlour offering a unique ice cream tailor made for dogs! The specially formulated ice cream is made with a soya base, no added sugar and vanilla pods – your fur-babies are going to love it! And of course, you can treat yourself to some goodies too with a range of handmade chocolates, desserts and ice cream too!
