The River Towy offers good salmon and sewin fishing and there are also rivers such as the Cothi nearby, which are also famous for centuries of fishing. Trout fishing on local lakes may be found with tuition available as well. Pheasant and Duck shoots take place in the area in season, and can be arranged along with the fishing. Bird watchers should look out for the Red Kite.

Walking has long been a favourite pastime for people who holiday in the area. The difficulty varies from route to route but the scenery is always breathtaking from forests such as Brechfa to open mountain trails such as the Vans, to the coastal paths of Pembroke and the Gower. Mountain biking is even more exhilarating and the Brechfa forests offer a multitude of trails of various lengths and difficulties. Bike hire is available in the area also.
